Being originally from the Canary Islands, which shares the Atlantic Ocean with the African continent, I had a special interest in delving into and learning about the culture of this neighbouring territory. We decided to discover Gambia and Senegal on a road trip, pausing at places that caught our attention along the way; fishing villages, rural areas and busy towns.
After many kilometres full of contrasts, where green and ochre hues combined, I began to observe the life that was on the roadsides. A culture that despite living with few resources, has values deeply rooted in nature, traditions and community life. An experience of reflection that made me revalue and rethink the lifestyle I lead. The importance of living simply.
