For a long time we'd been craving a long trek, a spiritual journey where you can connect with yourself, while walking in the highest mountains on earth. On the Annapurna Circuit we walked through the valleys of Lamjung, through world’s highest mountain pass of Manang and the isolated, moon-like landscape of Mustang. On the way we tested our limits, discovered our weaknesses and experienced the hospitality of Nepalese-Buddhist and Hindu culture. Having completed the Annapurna Circuit, I felt I wasn't ready to leave the Himalayas. I decided to do the Annapurna Base Camp trek on my own. Most think traveling solo as a woman in Nepal is dangerous, but even on the days when I met no one else on the trail but the locals, I felt there were only good things waiting for me.
